About Connie

My Name is Connie David.  I would like to take a minute to tell you a bit about me.

The first thing you would notice if you met me
in person is that I am blind.  I tell you this only because it is a factor in why I am doing with I do today.

I spent several years
living on public assistance.  I supported myself on as little as $247.00 a month.  Yes, I lived in subsidized housing, but everything else
I did came out of that check, and I usually had a little left over t the end of the month.
My friends said I could squeeze Lincoln off a penny if I had to.

This is not a tale of woe.  My point is, I know what it is like to have to stretch a check.
I know what many families are facing today.
During that time I was looking for a job as a teacher, but nobody was hiring blind teachers in the early 1980’s.
I did a lot of volunteer work, and was able to do a lot of teaching that way.

I did finally land a teaching job with Minneapolis Public schools,
where I remained for 18 years.

I have also worked as a financial representative for a very large company for 5 years.  I learned many
important things about money management during those years,  and my book, “It’s Your Money! You Keep It!” was written to give reader some of this
information.
